Deductible Payment Plan (DPP): Paying Your SGI Deductible Over Time
If a collision, vandalism, hail or theft claim leaves you with a deductible you can't pay upfront, SGI's Deductible Payment Plan (DPP) spreads it over 10 monthly payments instead.
Who's eligible
- Your personal vehicle is registered in Class LV or F, and
- Covered by basic licence plate insurance.
You're not eligible if you have an auto extension policy, or if you currently owe money to SGI.
How to sign up
Your adjuster reviews the plan with you when you report your claim and confirms eligibility. Depending on your claim type, you'll either:
- Complete the DPP form online through MySGI (have your banking information ready before starting — the form can time out if you leave to retrieve it), or
- Complete a paper form from your adjuster with a void cheque attached.
Payment schedule and cost
Payments start 30–60 days after SGI receives your completed application. When you pick up your repaired vehicle from the body shop, you pay a $100 down payment directly to them. The remaining balance is withdrawn automatically from your bank account over 10 months, interest-free, with a one-time $30 administration fee added to your first payment.
Limits
You can have up to 3 claims active under the plan at once, as long as your SGI account is in good standing on previous claims.
